Subject specific competences:

The student:

• recognizes surgical disease, etiology and normal course of the disease with possible preventive actions;
• recognizes signs and symptoms of surgical diseases and injuries, diagnostics and decision making algorithm for operative treatment;
• recognizes basic surgical techniques, osteosinthesis and recognition of surgical complications, specially postoperative one;
• recognizes first aid for surgical complications, specially urgent one, financial management;
• gets knowledge of interdisciplinary work and team approach in therapy of surgical diseases and injury;
• recognizes limitations of reconstructive surgery and transplantation;
• basic principle is knowledge of general surgery because special surgeries are too complex for detail evaluation;
• follows of surgical and orthopaedic surgery development and implementation of new technologies in every day practice and nursing.
