Subject-specific competences:
  • Ability of self-assessment, assessment, planning and provision of integrated, personalized care, also following the guidelines for clinical nursing care.
  • Ability to demonstrate sufficient knowledge and skills to ensure professional and safe nursing care.

  • Assuming responsibility in the documentation process.
  • Understanding and implementing theoretical and methodological foundations and principles of nursing care and the use of intervention measures based on scientific evidence and available resources.
  • Ability to communicate, conduct therapeutic work with individuals, families and groups.
  • Knowledge of dangers at work.
  • Knowledge of safety measures for the risks present in health care.
  • Knowledge of relevant methods and techniques when lifting or transferring patients.

Knowledge and understanding:
  • Knowledge of the nursing process.
  • Identifying patients' needs for nursing care by means of physical tests, and observation of acquired tools/skills.
  • Implementation of patient-oriented customized nursing.
  • Students learn the importance of nursing in the processes of prevention, treatment and coping with the disease.
  • Becoming familiar with environmental factors essential for safe health care provision (prevention and management of health infections, awareness of adverse events, safe transfer of patients).
  • Understanding the role of nurses in the nursing and medical teams.
  • Understanding the importance of documentation in nursing.
  • Following protocols according to previously established quality models.
  • Identifying the most important theoretical models in nursing.
  • Demonstrating ethical, legal and humanistic standards in all nursing procedures.
  • Assuming responsibility for one’s work.
  • Recognizing dangers at work.
  • Awareness of the importance of methods and techniques for safe lifting and handling of loads.
  • Using equipment which helps lifting burdens.
