Subject-specific competences: Student:
  • acquires new knowledge and expands existing knowledge on internistic patients;
  • gains the ability to combine theoretical knowledge with practice while developing critical thinking, independence, and innovation;
  • recognizes the physical, psychological, and social needs of internistic patients, knows how to respond to them independently and solve them appropriately under the supervision of a mentor;
  • can provide holistic care to an internistic patient within the nursing process (planning care, implementing nursing interventions, evaluating and assessing the quality of care);
  • becomes familiar with nursing documentation at the clinical learning center;
  • learns about teamwork and the multidisciplinary approach;
  • develop a culture of moral ethical attitudes, values and responsibility to the patient, health care professionals and the profession of nursing;
  • develops the knowledge and skills for the
  • implementation of scientific findings into evidence-based practice.

Knowledge and understanding:
  • acquisition of knowledge and skills in the field of nursing care of patients with internistic diseases;

Study obligations:  Students must meet the following conditions:
  • present a valid medical certificate for conducting the work of a registered nurse;
  • be vaccinated against hepatitis B;
  • have a valid student insurance based on Articles 17 and 18 of the Health Care and Health Insurance Act for occupational injuries and diseases when participating in tasks and field work;
  • have the required protective clothing, footwear, and special equipment;
  • students can do optional clinical training that must comply with the internal legal acts of the Faculty of Health Care Jesenice (FHCJ) for the implementation of mandatory and optional clinical training.
Assessment methods: Numerical assessment of clinical training  (competences being assessed: professional behaviour, communication skills, cooperation, implementation of nursing interventions, documentation of nursing care at the clinical placement, individual student work, health care counselling).
Students will be awarded ECTS points for conducting the entire clinical training, meeting the requirements of clinical training and getting a passing grade.
Student must have successfully passed the subject in order to be admitted into next year’s study program.
