Subject-specific competences: |

Knowledge and understanding
Students:
- learn the basics of general intravenous and inhalational anaesthesia
- learn the basics of regional anaesthesia
- become familiar with the drugs used in anaesthesia and their pharmacological characteristics
- learn how to use the anaesthetic machine
- adopt principles of patient monitoring: preoperatively, during surgery and in the recovery room
- learn the basics of acute and chronic pain treatment
- learn about basic and advanced life support of children and adults
- are able to work according to the principles of health care regarding the physical status of the patient and use the equipment needed to anesthetise patients.
