Subject-specific competences: To identify the risks and factors that affect the processes of increasing and maintaining health, disease prevention and self-control in the home setting.
Encouraging and enforcing health promotion and preventive measures in primary health care for the healthy, vulnerable or sick individuals of all ages.
Encouraging and enabling autonomy and self-care for as long as possible for individuals and their families with educational activities within primary health care and community nursing.
Identifying vulnerable groups and reducing health inequalities in primary health care and community nursing.

Knowledge and understanding:
  • To become familiar with the National Health Protection Programme of the Republic of Slovenia for primary health care;
  • To become familiar with the program of preventive health care at the primary level.

The ability to identify:
  • responses to the psycho-social needs of individuals and families;
  • familiarity with and application of relevant knowledge, evidence, actions;
  • advantages of an integrated treatment of individuals, families and communities;
Recognizing the importance of open communication, cooperativeness, team work, the possibilities of interdisciplinary and cross-sectoral integration.
Knowing the benefits of health promotion, disease prevention, maintaining the quality of life and comprehensive treatment of individuals, families and local communities at the primary health care and in community nursing.
