Subject-specific competences:
  • Symptoms and signs of internal diseases (heart, lungs, gastrointestinal tract, liver, vascular system, endocrine glands, blood and blood forming organs, the immune system, kidneys).
  • Causes of internal diseases (innate anomalies, hereditary factors, infections, degenerative changes, injuries, cancer).
  • Prevention of internal diseases.
  • Emergency conditions in internal medicine (heart failure, respiratory failure, renal failure, liver failure, shock, anaphylaxis).
  • Rehabilitation of patients with internal diseases.
 
Knowledge and understanding:
  • application of theoretical knowledge of internal medicine in every day practice
  • student is familiar with algorithms for systematic approach toward injured person or suddenly ill person
  • student is able to plan the care and needed measures for stabilisation of endangered patient
  • student understands the consequences of performed measures and is able to evaluate changes of health condition of endangered patient
