Subject-specific competences:
  • In-depth anatomy and physiology of respiratory and cardio-vascular system
  • In-depth pathophysiology of respiratory and cardio-vascular system
  • Respiratory, cardiac and vascular diseases, their pharmathological treatment
  • Mechanics and control of breathing, mechanical ventilation
  • Interchange and gas transport, acid-base balance, liquids of human body and electrolytes
  • Tests for respiratory and cardio-vascular functions
  • Methods and techniques in cardiorespiratory physiotherapy, importance of cardiorespiratory physiotherapist
  • Cardiorespiratory physiotherapy in perioperative treatment, in intensity and internal medicine, in pediatrics and in neonatology 
  • Usage of correct cardiorespiratory therapy methods and techniques, cardiorespiratory therapy planning and evaluation of patient condition

Objectives and competences:
  • To deepen the knowledge od anatomy, physiology and pathophysiology of respiratory and cardio-vascular system
  • To adopt new knowledge about cardiorespiratory therapy methods and techniques
  • To know how to choose correct method and technique for cardiorespiratory patient treatment
  • To know how to check patient condition and how to evaluate the effectiveness of cardiorespiratory physiotherapy assessment

Knowledge and understanding:
  • Normal and pathophysiological respiratory and cardio-vascular system 
  • Respiratory and cardio-vascular system testing and measuring
  • Cardiorespiratory physiotherapy methods and techniques
  • Conservative and pharmacologically treatment of respiratory and cardio-vascular diseases
  • Mechanics and control of breathing, mechanical ventilation
  • Usage of cardiorespiratory physiotherapy in perioperative, intensive, internal medicine, in pediatrics and in neonatology
