Competences
Basics and form of second level Health promotion study program are complementary with basic European competencies for Master of public health. The program enables you to develop knowledge and skills in:
Intellectual competencies:
- knowing and understanding historic development of health promotion,
- knowing and understanding of fundamental documents (Ottawa charter…) and definitions,
- knowing and understanding disease prevention (definitions in context of prevention),
- knowing and understanding fundamental concepts in health promotion (empowerment, holistic approach, community orientation, health promotion practice…),
- knowing and understanding social-historical background that influences knowledge on health
- knowing and understanding health protection systems,
- knowing and understanding communication (teaching technique, marketing…),
- knowing and understanding principles and methods to practice health promotion (analysis and evaluation of current conditions),
- knowing and understanding at lest European health promotion policies.
Practical competencies:
- knowing and understanding challenges in population health connected to health promotion,
- transmission of needs from practice to science,
- forming and defining health promotion strategies,
- knowing and understanding options for systematic solutions.
Health promotion experts will have knowledge, skills and competencies to create and manage health promotion according to social needs. Experts will be unique in the field of health promotion and coordination. They will know and understand basic concepts in public health and research methodology; they will be able to apply theoretical knowledge into practice and practice into theoretical knowledge.
