The student:

  • Students are familiar with definition and basic characteristics of chronic diseases.
  • Students are familiar with major public health problems (world-wide and nationally).
  • Students understand the role of determinants of health in occurrence and development of chronic diseases (and are familiar with their distribution among adult Slovene population).
  • Students are familiar with comprehensive burden of chronic diseases for healthcare system and society.
  • Students are familiar with key approaches in prevention and management of chronic diseases and the role of different stakeholders.
  • Students are familiar with strategies on management of chronic diseases (global, national, regional). 
  • Students are familiar with vulnerable groups and their barriers in care for health and management of chronic diseases.
