The student:

  • learns about the modern approaches and methods in hospital hygiene,
  • learns about the modern approaches and methods in hospital-acquired infections;
  • learns about nurses’ role in prevention and control of hospital-acquired infections and the organization of this field of work according to the legislation;
  • learns the theory behind nursing interventions in infection prevention;
  • acquires knowledge and skills on prevention of hospital-acquired infections in nursing care, in accordance with professional guidelines and the legislative framework;
  • expands existing knowledge of the legislation, inspection services, and the organization of this field according to the regulations on hospital hygiene and the prevention of hospital-acquired infections;
  • expands existing knowledge of risks for hospital-acquired infections in hospital and other health care institutions, also for community nursing and other types of health visits at home;
  • expands existing knowledge in epidemiological methods and ways of monitoring and following hospital-acquired infections.
