Kratek življenjepis
Marjana Bernot je od leta 1998 zaposlena na Onkološkem inštitutu Ljubljana. Bila je vključena v zdravstveno nego in zdravljenje pacientov z rakom po različnih področjih. Od leta 2004 vse do maja 2016 je bila vključena v vodenje in management zaposlenih. Zadnja tri leta opravlja delo koordinatorja paliativne oskrbe. Znanje iz področja paliativne oskrbe in vodenja redno dograjuje, v letu 2019 je uspešno zaključila Evropsko akademijo za paliativno oskrbo (EUPCA) s projektom Prepoznavanje žalovanja in podpora žalujočim.
V letu 2006 so jo prvič habilitirali za predavatelja za področje zdravstvene nege na Fakulteti za vede o zdravju Izola. Na Fakulteti za zdravstvo Angele Boškin je dopolnilno zaposlena od leta 2007 kot nosilka in višja predavateljica za predmet Paliativna oskrba in zravstvena nega onkološkega pacienta. Dejavna je kot predavateljica na številnih srečanjih, delavnicah in šolah.
Je članica Sekcije medicinskih sester in zdravstvenih tehnikov v onkologiji, Mednarodne zveze onkoloških medicinskih sester ((ISNCC)) in Evropske zveze onkoloških medicinski sester (EONS). Je aktivna članica izobraževalne dejavnosti v Slovenskem združenju paliativne in hospic oskrbe (SZPHO). Od leta 2015 je članica uredniškega odbora Asian-Pacific Journal of Oncology Nursing (APJON). Njen ožji strokovni interes so paliativna oskrba, onkološka zdravstvena nega z onkologijo, vodenje zaposlenih in management.
Curriculum Vitae
Marjana Bernot, RN, BSc, is a Coordinator for Palliative Care at the Institute of Oncology Ljubljana, Slovenia, where she has been working since 1998.
Between 2004 and 2016 she held a position in middle management and leadership as the Head of Department of Inpatient Nursing and Care. In 2019 she finished The European Palliative Care Academy (EUPCA) for leadership in palliative care, with the project Grief and bereavement in Slovenia. She is a lecturer at the Faculty of Health Care Angela Boškin, Slovenia for modules on Oncology nursing and Palliative care. She is a member of the Slovenian Association for Palliative and Hospice Care (SZPHO), Slovenian Oncology Nursing Society, International Society of Nurses in Cancer Care (ISNCC), European Association for Palliative Care (EAPC) and the European Oncology Nursing Society (EONS).
Her professional area focuses on palliative care, nursing education, leadership, medical and radiotherapy oncology treatment. She has participated in various conferences and has published several professional articles in nursing and oncology journals. She has produced three of her own theses and mentored undergraduates, focusing on research into evidence-based practice and other professional skills. She has also been involved in the working group for the development of oncology nursing specialization in Slovenia and in the SMILEON project call, supporting innovative learning approaches through mobile integration in the workplace, i.e. Oncology nursing. She is an international editorial board member of Asia-Pacific Journal of Oncology Nursing (APJON).
