Kratek življenjepis

Helena Ribič je leta 1990 diplomirala na Medicinski fakulteti Univerze v Ljubljani in se po opravljenem strokovnem izpitu leta 1991 zaposlila na Inštitutu za varovanje zdravja Republike Slovenije na Oddelku za medicinsko mikrobiologijo. Leta 1994 je na Medicinski fakulteti Univerze v Ljubljani opravila podiplomski študij iz hospitalne higiene, leta 1997 pa specialistični izpit iz klinične mikrobiologije z imunologijo. Njeno glavno področje dela je klinična bakteriologija. Leta 2004 se je zaposlila na tedanjem Zavodu za zdravstveno varstvo Kranj v Laboratoriju za medicinsko mikrobiologijo, ki od leta 2014 dalje pripada Nacionalnemu laboratoriju za zdravje okolje in hrano (NLZOH). Od leta 2005 do 2015 je opravljala delo zdravnika za obvladovanje bolnišničnih okužb Splošne bolnišnice Jesenice in sodelovala v bolnišnični Komisiji za obvladovanje bolnišničnih okužb in Komisiji za antibiotike. Je članica dveh nacionalnih komisij pri Ministrstvu za zdravje: Komisije za smiselno rabo protimikrobnih zdravil in Nacionalne komisije za obvladovanje bolnišničnih okužb; je podpredsednica Slovenske komisije za ugotavljanje občutljivosti za protimikrobna zdravila in članica Evropskega združenja za klinično mikrobiologijo in infekcijske bolezni (ESCMID), Sekcije za klinično mikrobiologijo in hospitalne infekcije ter Sekcije za preventivno medicino pri Slovenskem zdravniškem društvu. Na Fakulteti za zdravstvo Angele Boškin sodeluje kot visokošolska učiteljica pri dodiplomskem programu zdravstvena nega, in sicer pri predmetih Preprečevanje in obvladovanje okužb v zdravstvu z mikrobiologijo in Preprečevanje okužb povezanih z zdravstvom (izbirni predmet), pri dodiplomskem programu fizioterapija pri predmetu Preprečevanje in obvladovanje okužb v zdravstvu in pri podiplomskem študijskem programu za izpopolnjevanje Okužbe, povezane z zdravstvom.

 

Curriculum Vitae

Helena Ribič graduated from the Medical Faculty of the University of Ljubljana in 1990 and in 1991 took a job at the Institute of Public Health of the Republic of Slovenia at the Department of Medical Microbiology. In 1994 she completed a postgraduate study in hospital hygiene at the Medical Faculty of the University of Ljubljana, and in 1997 a specialist examination in clinical microbiology with immunology. In 2004, she was employed at the then Institute of Public Health Kranj in the Laboratory for Medical Microbiology, which since 2014 has belonged to the National Laboratory for Health, Environment and Food (NLZOH). From 2005 to 2015, she worked as a doctor for the management of nosocomial infections at the Jesenice General Hospital and participated in the Hospital Commission for the Control of Nosocomial Infections and the Commission for Antibiotics. Her main field of work is clinical bacteriology.
She is a member of the National Commission for the Control of Nosocomial Infections at the Ministry of Health, Vice-President of the National Commission for the Sensible Use of Antimicrobials, Vice-President of the Slovenian Commission for Antimicrobial Susceptibility, Member of the European Association for Clinical Microbiology and Infectious Diseases hospital infections and the Section for Preventive Medicine at the Slovenian Medical Association. Since 2019, she has been the national focal point for antimicrobial resistance at the European Center for Disease Prevention and Control and the coordinator of Slovenia in the European Antimicrobial Resistance Surveillance Network (EARS-Net).
At the Faculty of Health Angela Boškin, she participates as a higher education teacher in the undergraduate program of nursing, namely in the subjects Prevention and control of infections in health care with microbiology and Prevention of healthcare-related infections (optional subject), in the undergraduate program physiotherapy in the subject Prevention and control health and in the postgraduate study program for advanced training Health-related infections.
