Excellent results for CNJ at the 8th FINE conference in Lisbon

The European Federation of Nurse Educators (FINE) hosted the 8th European Conference of Nurse Educators in Lisbon.
The theme of this year’s conference was “Advancing Nursing Education: Research Quality and Innovation”
(more at http://www.fine-europe.eu/en/conferences/prochaine.html).

Participants included prominent European Union representatives from the field of education and representatives of the Nursing and Midwifery Council who stressed the importance of amendments to the EU Directive 2005/36/EC. All FINE members and national associations were called upon to actively participate in the process of modifying this important document. The conference was especially important for College of Nursing Jesenice because its Dean, Mrs. Brigita Skela Savič, RN, PhD, was elected member of FINA’s Advisory Board, and her presentation entitled “Development of nursing care in Slovenia for the needs of society in the future” was selected as the best presentation of the second conference day.

College of Nursing Jesenice was associate member of FINE from 2008 until September 2010 when it gained full membership to the Federation. Through its membership in FINE, College of Nursing Jesenice is actively pursuing its goal of increased international cooperation by supporting nursing in the developed world, and promoting the social and political recognition of the profession.
