An expert meeting with Dr Alice Kiger, Associate Professor on the development and accreditation of international doctoral studies in Nursing/Health care sciences

Dr Alice Kiger, now retired from the University of Aberdeen, Scotland, and a part-time Associate Professor in the Masters Programme at the Faculty of Health Care Jesenice since 2006, will be hosted by our faculty in the first week of December 2014. She will be awarded The Angela Boškin Award for Professors at the Inauguration Ceremony of the College of Nursing Jesenice into the Faculty of Health Care Jesenice.

Dr Kiger will be a guest lecturer on the 6th research school with international participation: Importance of research for the development of the profession: nursing as a scientific discipline. She will talk about the research methodologies.

A very important part of her visit is also a meeting on December 4th with professors and the head of the FHCJ. They will have a discussion about the development and accreditation of the international doctoral studies in Nursing/Health care sciences in the light of the current national legislation, needs and situation within nursing education. The meeting will be held within the framework of the project »The continuous development of the quality system of the College of Nursing Jesenice (CNJ) to achieve international excellence in health care education«.
