Faculty of Health Care Jesenice awarded the certificate of excellence
This year, the Faculty of Health Care Jesenice (FHCJ) was shortlisted for the Business Excellence Prize of the Republic of Slovenia (PRSPO). The ceremony was held on Thursday, May 14, 2015, with distinguished guests including Mr. ZdravkoPočivalšek, the Minister of Economic Development and Technology of Slovenia. The FHCJ received a four-star certificate ‘Recognised for Excellence’, based on a distribution agreement between the Metrology Institute of the Republic of Slovenia and the European Foundation for Quality Management (EFQM) from Brussels.
“This recognition means a great deal—it is a confirmation of all the work conducted thus far, of our vision for the future and our strategic objectives and commitment to providing high-quality higher education programs, also at the international level. We would like to foster dialogue in Slovenia and to discuss the necessary changes in organization and scope of higher education programs, which should be based on the actual needs of the society instead of on deep-rooted practices. For us, an independent higher education institution, a great limitation is presented by the equal measures which apply to all higher education institutions. The only way to implement necessary changes in higher education is to identify best practice examples and use them as the basis for creating internationally comparable approaches in public higher education,” said the Dean of FHCJ, Ms. BrigitaSkelaSavič, Associate Professor.
Certificate of Excellence for a high EFQM methodology score
The certificate is presented to those organizations which, based on the distribution agreement between the Metrology Institute of the Republic of Slovenia and EFQM, scored more than 300 or 400 points out of total 1,000 points.
In addition, the FHCJ received a certificate for being among the finalists for the Business Excellence Prize of the Republic of Slovenia (PRSPO). The finalist certificate is presented to those outstanding Slovenian organizations which demonstrated business excellence both in their business outcomes and in the way the organization works as a whole, according to the example and standards set by the EFQM Excellence Award (EEA).
