FHCJ successfully obtained the ARRS project: CRP 2015: Nursing as a scientific discipline in Slovenia

Nursing as a scientific discipline in Slovenia: An internationally comparable secondary and tertiary education system in nursing care as the foundation of research and scientific contribution to the sustainable development of society.

Slovenian research agency acknowledged FHCJ a two-year research project titled " Nursing as a scientific discipline in Slovenia: An internationally comparable secondary and tertiary education system in nursing care as the foundation of research and scientific contribution to the sustainable development of society”. The purpose of the project is to establish an internationally comparable system of secondary and tertiary education in nursing, which enables the development of the profession and science, and sets the framework for establishing interdisciplinary research related to health care, which may have a significant impact on sustainable social development.

The project is based on the fact that Slovenia is facing poorly arranged system of education at all levels, from high school education to doctorate level, considering following aspects: the content and scope of education and competences of graduates at different levels and internationally comparable system of education. Described inhibits the development of nursing as a medical discipline, which in EU countries contributes to the efficiency and quality of medical treatment, medical system and to health of society. Regulated education is the foundation of professionalization of each profession and the foundation for the development of the profession as a scientific discipline. Partners of the project are Faculty of Health Sciences Izola, Educational Research Institute, Faculty of Health Sciences Maribor, International School for Social and Business Studies, National institute for public health.
