ProInCa consortium consists of European(4) and Kazakhstan(5) HEIs, and associated partners(13) representing variety of different stakeholders. The project is led by JAMK(FI), and supported by the Kazakhstan(KZ) Ministry of Education and Ministry of Health. ProInCa strives for solving the defined problems in KZ nursing HEI and nursing practice: lack of collaboration and knowledge sharing between the HEI’s, health service sector and international nursing research community; lack of capacity of HEI’s teaching staff teaching for evidence based nursing, nursing research and nursing management; absence of nursing research; undeveloped leadership in nursing. The wider objective of the project is to develop the sustainable innovation capacity of KZ Medical Universities for the modernization of nursing. Significant results and long-term benefits are expected within the 3-year project:

• Sustainable mechanisms for collaboration and knowledge sharing between national and international academic nursing community and society
• Increased relevance of HEI nursing education for the labor market through the implementation of EBN
• Strengthened role of Medical Universities in building evidence based nursing research activities in health services
• Improved capacity and relevance for the labor market on nursing leadership and management in health care transition
• New sustainable system of nursing leadership and management in health care with collaboration of HEI's and Health care facilities
Four development work packages generate several outcomes, which provide sustainable results as  collaborative structures and persistent bodies to the HEIs and health care facilities (e.g. Center of Nursing Excellence, Nurse Leaders´ National Network); national capacity building materials for HEIs and HCF (e.g. nursing research, evidence based nursing, leadership), and reports with policy recommendations (e.g. nursing research infrastructure, nursing management system).

ProInCa project and Center of Nursing Excellence

The three-year (2017-2020) ProInca project aimed to empower medical universities in Kazakhstan with the knowledge and long-term mechanisms to modernize nursing care. The results of the cooperation of the Finnish, Dutch, Slovenian and Kazakh partners addressed the reform of the nursing system and the development of the management and education system in the field of nursing in Kazakhstan. An important aspect of the cooperation was also the development and implementation of evidence-based nursing care in Kazakhstan, to raise the level of quality of patient care and their safety in Kazakhstan.

One of the important achievements for the long-term sustainability was creation of The Center of Nursing Excellence (CNE) (available at: https://nursekz.com/) which was developed by ProInCa project and associated partners. Angela Boškin Faculty of Health Care was one of the partners in this project, focused primarily on evidence-based nursing topics. More information about this can be found on the ProInCa project website: http://proinca-nursing.kz.

The Center of Nursing Excellence is network organization to collaborate and exchange nursing knowledge for research and education and the improvement of evidence-based nursing practice for the Kazakhstan nursing community. The e-platform of the CNE is supporting and facilitating knowledge sharing, research, innovation and education by collaboration. The Center of Nursing Excellence of Kazakhstan contributes to the improvement of nursing practice by expanding the powers of nurses to improve the quality of medical care to improve people’s health. CNE brings theory to practice and enhances the development of science of care. CNE serves as a collaborative and online platform between nursing practice, nursing education, and nursing research.

CNE actively collects, promotes and shares information:
evidence-based clinical guidelines for patient care;
teaching materials for nursing;
research of nurses;
about latest news in nursing.

Main topics are: Nursing in Kazakhstan, Nursing Research, Evidence Based Nursing, Nursing Clinical Guidelines, Nursing Leadership and on these topics, you can freely access the Moodle courses available on CNE webpage and we invite you to access them.
