Kratek življenjepis

Andrea Backović Juričan je višja predavateljica in fizioterapevtka, diplomirana delovna terapevtka in univerzitetna diplomirana organizatorka.

Dela na Nacionalnem inštitutu za javno zdravje kot nacionalna promotorka zdravja in vodja področja telesne dejavnosti na Centru za upravljanje programov preventive in krepitve zdravja. Njeno delo temelji na raziskovanju in razvoju ter implementaciji in evalvaciji različnih nacionalnih intervencij, strokovnih in laičnih gradiv vezanih na promocijo zdravja in telesno dejavnost ter sedeče vedenje. Sodeluje tudi pri razvoju in implementaciji raznovrstnih politik z namenom uveljavljanja koncepta "zdravje v vseh politikah. Na Nacionalnem inštitutu za javno zdravje izvaja izobraževanja zdravstvenih in drugih strokovnjakov za delo v promociji zdravja in preventivi na primarni zdravstveni ravni. Raziskuje, razvija in izvaja ter evalvira intervencije s področja telesne dejavnosti in telesne pripravljenosti za ljudi z dejavniki tveganja za nastanek kroničnih nenalezljivih bolezni oziroma že zbolelih v različnih okoljih.

Sistematično zagovarja fizioterapijo, telesno dejavnost za krepitev zdravja, preprečevanje sedentarnosti in zdravo spanje v medijih ter med različnimi poklicnimi skupinami in v širši javnosti. Vodi Mrežo za promocijo zdravja v življenju in delu pri Svetovni fizioterapiji in je bila do septembra 2021 (11 let zaporedoma) izvoljena članica usmerjevalnega odbora Evropske mreže za telesno dejavnost za krepitev zdravja pri Svetovni zdravstveni organizaciji, v okviru katere kot zunanji ekspert sodeluje še naprej. Občasno kot ekspert svetuje tudi Organizaciji združenih narodov in sicer Uradu za človekove pravice.

Ravno tako je bila prva in dolgoletna predsednica nacionalne Sekcije fizioterapevtov v osnovnem zdravstvenem varstvu in je trenutno predsednica (2. mandat) nacionalne Sekcije fizioterapevtov za krepitev zdravja ter istočasno aktivna članica izvršilnega odbora pri Združenju fizioterapevtov Slovenije. Poleg tega je članica številnih nacionalnih in mednarodnih ekspertnih skupin, povezanih z javnim zdravjem, upravljanjem kroničnih nenalezljivih bolezni, pristopi za promocijo zdravja in telesne dejavnosti v življenju in pri delu, preprečevanjem sedečega vedenja ter izzivi na področju fizioterapije in športa v različnih okoljih kot so zdravstvo, delo, promet, načrtovanje zelenih površin, izobraževanje in  lokalna skupnost.

Dopolnilno je zaposlena na Fakulteti za zdravstvo Angele Boškin, kjer je habilitirana za področje promocije zdravja kot višja predavateljica in predava na dodiplomskem študijskem programu fizioterapije, kjer pokriva naslednje predmete: Management v zdravstvu in organizacija fizioterapije, Promocija zdravja in fizioterapija, Fizioterapija za zdravo in varno delo ter Zdrav življenjski slog. Kot višja predavateljica sodeluje tudi z drugimi fakultetami s področja zdravstva predvsem na magistrskih študijskih programih fizioterapije.

Je soavtorica številnih učbenikov, priročnikov, delovnih zvezkov, knjižic, zloženk in didaktičnih pripomočkov s področja telesne dejavnosti za krepitev zdravja, telesne pripravljenosti  in sedečega vedenja za strokovno in laično javnost. Občasno je mentorica ali somentorica študentom pri diplomskih in magistrskih nalogah na številnih slovenskih fakultetah s področja zdravstva in športa.

Nenazadnje je tudi študentka doktorskega študija zdravstvenih ved na Fakulteti za zdravstvo Angele Boškin in sicer smer Promocija zdravja.
 


Curriculum Vitae

Andrea Backović Juričan, senior lecturer, is a physiotherapist, an occupational therapist and has a bachelor's in organizational science.

She works at the National Institute of Public Health as a national health promoter and is a leader in a field of physical activity at the Prevention and Promotion Programmes Management Centre. Her work is based on the research and development, implementation and evaluation of various national interventions, professional and public written materials related to health promotion and physical activity and sedentary behaviour. It also participates in the development and implementation of a variety of policies with a view to enforcing the concept of "health in all policies". At the National Institute of Public Health she
provides training for health and other professionals to work in health promotion and prevention at the primary health level. Researches, develops and implements interventions in the field of physical activity and physical fitness for people with risk factors for the development of chronic non-communicable diseases or those already ill in various settings.

She systematically advocates physiotherapy, physical activity to promote health, sedentary prevention and healthy sleep in the media and among various professional groups and the general public. She is the leader the World Physiotherapy Network for Health Promotion in Life and Work and was elected until September 2021 (11 years in a row) as a member of the steering committee of the European Network for Health Enhancing Physical Activity at the World Health Organization, within which she continues to participate as an external expert. From time to time, she is an adviser to the United Nations, the Office of Human Rights.

Furthermore she was a first and for many years the president of the National Section of Physiotherapists in Primary Health Care and is currently the President (2. mandate) of the National Section of Physiotherapists for Health Promotion and at the same time an active member of the Executive Board of the Association of Physiotherapists of Slovenia. In addition, she is a member of a number national and international expert groups related to public health, chronic non-communicable diseases management, approaches to health promotion and physical activity promotion in life and at workplace, sedentary behaviour prevention and challenges in physiotherapy and sports in a variety of settings such as health, work, transport, spatial planning, education and the local community.

She is additionally employed at the Angela Boškin Faculty of Health Care, where she has a habilitation in the field of health promotion as a senior lecturer and at the undergraduate study program of physiotherapy covers the following subjects: Management in Healthcare and Organization in Physiotherapy, Physiotherapy and Health promotion, Physiotherapy for Healthy and Safe Work and Healthy Lifestyle. As a senior lecturer, she also collaborates with other faculties in the field of health, mainly in master's study programs in physiotherapy.

She is the co-author of numerous textbooks, manuals, workbooks, booklets, leaflets and didactic aids in the field of physical activity to strengthen health, physical fitness and sedentary behaviour for the professional and lay public. She is occasionally a mentor or co-mentor to students in undergraduate diplomas and master's theses at many Slovenian faculties in the field of health and sports.

Last but not least, she is also a doctoral student in health sciences at the Angela Boškin Faculty of Health Care, majoring in Health Promotion.
