The student:

  • recognizes basic characteristics of infections;
  • learns about the approach to a patient with infection including epidemiology measures;
  • learns about clinical simptoms and signs of infectious diseases;
  • learns about characteristics of infections by organ systems;
  • recognizes infections in special patient groups and type of the microorganism;
  • recognizes and discuss problems of modern infectious diseases: immunocompromized patients, rational use of antimicrobials, nosocomial infections;
  • learns about infection prevention.
