Subject specific competences:	The student: Students will gain the general knowledge of basic economics concepts, such as supply, demand, marginal analysis, cost-benefit analysis etc. Student will learn how the basic health care principles affect the basic economic principle, i.e. efficiency. Students will develop the understanding of the role of the public sector and reasons for the public funding and provision of health care. Students will be able to identify the comprising elements of health care systems and understand the role and functioning of coordinating mechanisms that assure their proper alignment.

Assessment methods:	written exam 70% (70 points) seminar work 30% (30 points) short test (10 bonus points) Bonus points are added to examination results if a student obtains at least 50 points on the written exam.
