Knowledge and understanding: Comprehension of: basic communication definitions; interpersonal communication models; different levels and views of interpersonal communication models; the social role of language and speech; communication pragmatics; understanding non-verbal communication; persuasive communication elements; emotions; main relational subjects; basic conflict dimensions in the communication process; understanding the importance of interpersonal communication among health care professionals; supportive communication characteristics; empathy; confidence in communication; communication ethics; establishing effective communication (nurse's duties; patient's duties); disruptions and misunderstandings between health care professionals and patients; understanding supervision as a method for achieving better nursing relations. Learning about critical thinking, giving feedback and reflection. |
